“When you drop a glass or a plate to the ground it makes a loud crashing sound. When a window shatters a table leg breaks or when a picture falls off the wall it makes a noise. But as for your heart when that breaks it is completely silent. You would think as it is so important it would make the loudest noise in the whole world or even have some … Read Moresort of ceremonious sound like the gong of a cymbal or the ringing of a bell. But it is silent and you almost wish there was a noise to distract you from the pain. If there is a noise it is internal. It screams and no one can hear it but you. It screams so loud your ears ring and your head aches. It trashes around in your chest like a great white shark caught in the sea it roars like a mother bear whose cub has been taken. That is what it looks like and that is what it sounds like a trashing panicking trapped great big beast roaring like a prisoner to its own emotions. But that is the thing about love no one is untouchable.”
~ Cecelia Ahern, If You Could See Me Now
My first book by Cecelia Ahern and I must admit I am really smitten by the way Cecelia expresses emotions and conveys the latent meanings in her own way.
A more of fantasy book that revolves around the central character, Elizabeth Egan – a young lady and a perfectionist who has been devoid of the familial pleasures of life. She hardly got to experience motherly and sisterly love owing to the fact that her mother and sisters had been busy in carrying out the adventures of their lives. As such, she had to bear the responsibilities of her parents all alone, to the extent that she had to raise even her sister’s son. She eventually falls in love with a so-called invisible guy who changes the way she had been reflecting upon her life. In all, an exciting read indeed ! 🙂
Looking forward to read the likes of ‘The Gift’ and the phenomenal ‘PS I Love You’ ! 🙂
