So yet another year is here with the WAT PI on.
Posting my learnings from some of them to avoid any confusions and for the sake of Candidates pending with their WAT-PI.
1. Academic Documents to be carried – Carry all your marksheets of – Xth, XIIth, All Semester Marksheets and Degree / Provisional certificates. Do carry one/two attested copies of these [although, in Bangalore, attestation is not much cared about].
2. Carry your Work Experience certificate issued from your organisation, if applicable. If the work experience certificate is not available, carry your appointment letter plus your first and last 2-3 salary slips.
3. Carry your extra-curricular certificates [a keep a copy to avoid last minute rush] that support your stance you mentioned in the Interview Form. However, the Panelists might not even ask.
4. Also, an ID proof is necessary to carry. Though not being asked for one, Keep a copy as well for being on the safer side.
5. The Process starts at the mentioned time [as in the notification mail] with document verification. The concerned people would start calling out names for the same. Once they check all your documents, the verification would end in noting down your details in a separate sheet for their own official purposes.
6. Meanwhile, the attendance sheet is passed on. Make sure you sign it.
7. The WAT is an half an hour process. You would be given sheet of paper with instructions thereon. You are not allowed to open it unless instructed to do so, though its not sealed. You are required to write in around 300 words and it would call for your views and opinions mostly.
8. Those officials would call out your names with the respective Panel Numbers. Make a note of it and assume that the order of calling applies to your PI as well.
9. Post the WAT and the document verification processes, you would be required to wait for your PI.
10. Average time for PI seems to be around 20-25 minutes.
11. PI questions revolve around the following;
- General Awareness – On India and the World.
- Current Affairs – Latest news and the like.
- Topics of interest – What you like and follow regularly.
- Academic subjects mentioned in the form – Have a basic brush up on all your subjects. You might be asked about your favorite subject and all. So, be well prepared.
- You might be asked if you follow a particular field. You are likely to get questions fired at if you say a ‘No’.
- Weaknesses – Be prepared with the measures you adopted to counter attack your weaknesses.
- Also, being acquainted with everything associated with you is also very crucial.
- Work Experience – You might be asked about your job responsibilities and / or your views on the same.
- Be very careful while uttering any word. They might cross-question you. So, be ready to justify your stand.
These are just the inputs from my experience. Prepare well, Fellas. Learn from your past PI experiences. Keep calm and be relaxed. There’s no use in getting nervous and tensed.
Lastly, Happy Preparations and All The Best !
