Needless to say it’s so unbelievable that 2019 has already set in and we are one and a half months through already. I had been saving a post specifically for all our resolutions which is why this is that first post of the year.
I believe we are struck with the ideas of our so-called “resolutions” mostly on two of the occasions of the year;
- The beginning of the year, when everybody else out there is wishing and preparing a list of resolutions.
- The end of the year, towards which we probably hardly care where we are with our list of resolutions.
However, have we ever asked ourselves as to how much have we been heeding to these ?
I find this concept of resolutions very interesting. It’s just like a “To-Do” list but on a broader perspective. To-Dos ought to do a lot of stuff especially in a busy and crazy world we thrive in where everything is moving at a lightning speed. If a To-Do is meant for a day or two or may be a week, our resolutions are meant for the entire year.
- We can make our resolutions more meaningful if we put them down on a paper instead of letting them stay afloat in the train of our thoughts. It helps in channelizing things.
- Creating a resolution list, just like a To-Do list will probably be helpful in the long run. Pointers are, of course better than paragraphs.
- The list can be grouped by categories and then sub categorized further as required. This helps us in the long run to see where we actually are.
- It need not be short or long. It should be just apt for one’s persona and goals.
- I guess resolutions can be easily aligned with our goals.
- If passion is inclusive, then I don’t think it would take a lot of effort to work on our resolutions.
- Retrospect and create the ones that would work for us.
- Thinking about goals that are highly unrealistic would only demotivate us and land us nowhere. As such, let’s be only realistic.
- Keep reviewing our list as and when feasible.
- A little more interest and a little more passion is all it takes for things like these to work out.
Who knows, these resolutions may do wonders in our lives. So, go back to your list of buckets and probably, you will land with something useful.
I wish this New Year brings more productivity and results along with unanticipated joy and peace.
Keep up with your resolutions! ❤
