About The Book

‘How To See’ is one of those motivational books while being a short and quick read that should not be missed. Its main theme is to apprise the reader of how important is mindfulness.

Special Highlights

I liked the simplicity of the book. It might be a small one but leaves a deep impact. The organization is well done. The pointers have been explained beautifully using simple and short stories. My major takeaway from this book is why should we look deeper within, which would lead to finding us the answers to all the questions / problems we may have / run into.

About The Author

As I read about Thich Nhat Hanh, he seems to be a spiritual leader. He writes in a simply and succinct manner but the way of expressing his ideas is beautiful, so much that it leaves a deep impact. He seems to be a visionary and has great insights into human psychology and behaviours, which he tries to address in this book.

Motivation To Read

  • A quick, easy and short read.
  • Worth your time, energy and introspection.
  • To learn about life.
  • To know what cause human suffering.
  • To understand deep within.
  • To know what practices would ail the general problems we humans tend to face.
  • To be reminded of how to look at life in all.

Few Noteworthy Quotes

  • Every event is both fortunate and unfortunate. Fortunate and unfortunate, good and bad, these concepts exist only in our perceptions.
  • Before I began to look deeply, mountains were mountains and rivers were rivers. Once I began to look deeply, mountains were no longer mountains and rivers were no longer rivers.
  • The more we practice looking deeply, the more accurate our perceptions can be.
  • Impermanence means transformation at every moment.
  • This is why we say that Right View means removing all kinds of views, including the views of impermanence, nonself, and interbeing.
  • Mindfulness and concentration are the powers that allow us to go deeply into the true nature of things and bring forth insight.

Ending Note

I picked up this book solely because it is one of those recommended by Sushant. And, I couldn’t agree more as to why he would have wanted us to read this book!

Happy Reading! ❤
